↑ Penguin Random House: Online Re-design
The new design principles capture the vibrant and confident spirit of the first Penguin books and much better represents the values of the most loved book brand in the world. As well as a new website which saw clicks to retail increase by 13%, the award-winning re-launch saw followers and subscribers grow by millions on Penguin's social media channels, including YouTube.
↑ LOVE CORN: Re-Design
It’s no wonder LOVE CORN is the UK’s fastest-growing snack brand in retail, bringing Delicious Crunchy Corn into the mainstream since its launch in 2017. When LOVE CORN approached us for a brand refresh, we were excited to help shape the next chapter of LOVE CORN. The refreshed visual identity captures LOVE CORN’s bold, lively energy.
↑ The Big Pitch with Jimmy Carr: Branding + Key Art
It's not everyday you get get to work for clients like BBC Studios and Netflix, so to be approached to work on the branding, cover design and photography for their new show, The Big Pitch with Jimmy Carr, was an exciting moment for Lane + Co.
↑ A Court of Thorns and Roses: Book Photography
At Lane + Co we have been delighted to form a partnership with Bloomsbury Publishing to capture book photography of the huge series A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J.Mass. At Bloomsbury, the series is only surpassed in sales by Harry Potter and has become a huge fan favourite on social media in particular.
↑ Penguin Classics In Audio: Animation
To celebrate the launch of Penguin Classics recorded in Audio for the first time, with narrators including Andrew Scott, Ajoa Andoh and Bill Nighy, we created an animation which visualised passages of text from various titles.
↑ Discovering Dinosaurs: Branding + Key Art
We were thrilled to be given the opportunity to create the branding for Lightroom’s biggest exhibition to date: Discovering Dinosaurs, in partnership with Apple TV and the groundbreaking series Prehistoric Planet. In addition to creating the logo and Visual Style Guide, we also coordinated and Art Directed the exhibition’s launch campaign.
↑ Audible Originals: Cover Design + Art Direction
Since 2023, Lane + Co have been honoured to design numerous covers for Audible Originals. It's estimated that Audible has around 27.3 million monthly users, making it one of the biggest fiction and non-fiction publishers of all time. With our extensive experience in publishing, we are able to execute covers of all kinds of genres for a wide variety of authors such as Stephen Fry, Natalie Cooper and Lianne Slade.
↑ By Any Other Name: Cover Design + Art Direction
Published by Micheal Jospeh and Penguin Random House, By Any Other Name by blockbuster author Jodi Picoult is a novel that explores the theme of identity and the ways in which two women, centuries apart—one of whom might just be the real author of Shakespeare’s plays—are both forced to hide behind another name to make their voices heard. We were delighted to design the proof cover for this incredible book, using the iconic Shakespeare seal to convey the theme of identify in the novel.
↑ Carrolls: Branding + Website Design
We were set the challenge of making the insurance company, Carroll's, stand out in a very conjested and competitive field. Creating a new website with bespoke video, photography and illustrative assets helped make Carroll's website a new industry leader.
↑ Natural History Museum: Christmas Campaign
It’s not every day that you get an email from the Natural History Museum, asking you to create their Christmas Shop campaign. When conceptualising the campaign, we knew we wanted to anchor it in nostalgia. The 1980s and 1990s Christmas aesthetic offered the perfect balance of playfulness and warmth.
↑ Colm Tóibín's Long Island: Campaign Creative
Colm Tóibín's book Long Island is the much anticipated sequel the prize-winning, bestselling novel Brooklyn. We were thrilled to be asked by Pan Macmillan to manage the campaign creative for the initial launch, which included portrait photography of Colm, as well as still-life photography of the book.
↑ Future Stories Fund: Branding
We were delighted to be asked by Audible to create the branding and logo for their new initiative: Future Stories Fund. We wanted to create a confident identity that graphically felt greater than the sum of its parts, had energy and challenged what you'd expect to see from Audible.
↑ Terry Pratchett's Discworld In Audio: Campaign Creative
The largest project Penguin Random House's audio division have ever produced, all 40 books from Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series in audio were recorded with a line up including Bill Nighy, Sian Clifford, Colin Morgan, Indira Varma and Andy Serkis. We provided the campaign creative, photography, video production, design and production coordination.
↑ Me, You, Them: Animation
With such a minimal cover, it was a challenge figuring out how we could visualise the themes in the book: desire, intimacy and marriage. Using typography as the stage, we think it works.
